Horrible management. We were awarded a free night stay because their cancellation policy is not mentioned while booking a room. Now they won't let us use the free stay. The management is acting like they cannot understand what we are saying. They do not speak a lick of english.....or they are conveniently acting that way now. Terrible experience
Very basic finishing, but rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Mattresses were quite worn.
I would highly recommend staying somewhere else, even if it's in your car in the McDonalds parking lot. We reserved a room here for a wedding and the entire experience was annoying and frustrating - two words I never want to have to use to describe a very important experience in our lives. The situation occurred like such: we had to be in town about 11am on the Saturday of the wedding because my boyfriend was a groomsman. Check in says that it is 3pm, but we were told when we reserved the room that guests in town to attend the wedding could check in at 2pm. My boyfriend and I arrived around 10am and just thought we would ask if there was any way to check in extra early. I understand if they weren't able to accommodate us or if we would've had to pay extra, however, upon asking the man at the front desk, he said "check in early? No check in early." Then pointed to the sign that said check in was at 3pm and walked away scowling. Basically wouldn't even give us the time of day. And because the rooms cost $130 per night, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous considering the hotels location (the middle of nowhere - Turtle Lake, Wisconsin) I wasn't willing to spend the extra time and money to reserve a room the night before in order to have the room on the morning we needed it. So I spent the morning/afternoon in a friends room while the rest of the bridal party went on their way. Thank God I knew people there with a room, otherwise I would've spent my day in the lobby. To make matters worse, at 2pm on the dot, I went down to the lobby to check in. This was a big mistake, as I waited there for 30 minutes to be helped. The lady in front of me in line had reserved two rooms on her own, and when they asked her what last name her rooms were under they found other parties who were traveling with her who had reserved rooms under the same last name. So instead of just checking that one lady into her two reserved rooms, they proceeded to check in everyone under that last name who were waiting in line BEHIND ME. This was infuriating, until one last thing made it even worse. The original lady who was in line in front of me was the last one that they looked up, and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, THEY LOST ONE OF HER RESERVATIONS. The man at the desk then had to galavant all over the hotel looking for the manager, who came down and very slowly sorted it all out. It was frustrating to have been treated so poorly at first, then to have been skipped over in line, only to find out there was a problem that took a ridiculous amount of time to sort out. When it was finally my turn it took about 30 seconds and I had my key and was headed to my room. If I had been just 5 minutes earlier I could've saved myself the 30 minute wait. However, I was scared that the jerk behind the counter was going to be rude about checking in too early again. This place is literally THE WORST, and you should stay at the casino next door. My room that I spent 5 minutes in was fine; clean, king bed, large bathroom, more than just basic cable channels.
Worst hotel ever we had stains on are blankets and when room service came they gave us the same blankets again. The pool water had a stinky smell to it and also the pillow smelled like they had not been changed.
